The cold chain is a temperature-controlled supply chain comprising refrigerated production, storage and distribution facilities supported by equipment that can constantly maintain the required low-temperature range. It is far more complex than it sounds.
Some vaccines require a constant temperature range from the time they are manufactured until they are used. The requirement is so exact that if the temperature goes outside of this range, even for a short time, the vaccine could lose its potency and become unfit for use.
Uninterrupted cold chain gives a guarantee that food is safe to eat when it reaches the consumer. Breaks in the chain could affect the quality of the food, and its shelf life, potentially making the food unsafe to eat.
Transportation in the cold supply chain is very critical since this is a non-static event and are impacted by different logistical variables. The whole process needs to be under control in order to guarantee product quality and safety.
Therefore, transportation temperature monitoring solutions are important. Our customers need to sure that the environmental conditions have been maintained during the entire supply chain.
Transport temperature monitoring solutions
The SenseAnywhere solution is a cloud-based platform that can cover the different steps in your supply chain. Therefore, SenseAnywhere developed a robust and compact AiroSensor linked to a Mobile GPS AccesPoint (connected with the internet : 2G or 3G) to build up a wireless network that covers the whole process.
Easy to install, adapted to the needs of the supply chain with Transport Alarms, which are automatic generated and show you whether the sensitive goods have been transported under the right conditions or not.
How does it work?
To use Transport Alarms, all you need is to scan a QR code on the outside of the transport packaging or an AiroSensor inserted in a SwitchHolder mounted in the container. At the start of the transport, the transport alarm can be started by either scanning the QR code or sliding the AiroSensor in the SwitchHolder to “on”. The carrier can enter a unique tracking ID of its transport in the SAClient Portal to link the transport to the shipment. When the samples/vaccines arrive at the clinic, the transport alarm can be stopped by scanning the QR code again or sliding the SwitchHolder to “off”. The shipper can use the same tracking ID in SAClient to quickly find his transport. Once arrived, the shipper will receive an email or SMS, stating whether the temperature limits have been exceeded or not. It couldn’t be easier.

Additional accessories for transportation temperature monitoring
Mobile GPS Access Point
The mobile GPS Access Point is a cellular modem and GPS receiver- it is perfectly suited for transport and remote locations. The mobile AccessPoint connects with the internet (via 2G and 3G) and has a GPS receiver module which enables you to locate your loggers and their current readings in real-time.
SwitchHolder
The SenseAnywhere SwitchHolder is an accessory which enables the user to disable the programmed alarm function of the AiroSensor with a single sliding movement. Just insert the AiroSensor and slide to one side to either activate or disable the alarm notifications of that specific device. This accessory is ideal for environments with cooling systems that are not operational during specific times, such as nights or weekends. The SwitchHolder is compatible with the AiroSensor and AiroSensor T. The sliding motion only disables the alarm function which means data logging will continue and you won’t miss the temperatures even if you forget to switch on the alarm back on.
